Face Your Giants...and Live

Picture
This Swedish family faced its Giant/Tsunami and lived.

Giants have been around for some time.  They come in various sizes and attitudes. Let's look at the common giants and the common human responses to those giants and then make a few suggestions.

When you hear of a Giant problem...how do you explain this to yourself?
  1. I am weak...I cannot do this.
  2. They are so much stronger than I am.
  3. Everyone else that does this fails...I will too!
  4. My opponent is much bigger than I am.
Some human responses to this are;
  1. Tears and feelings of inferiority.
  2. Whining and complaining against the organizations leaders.
  3. Lets go back to the good 'ole days.
  4. It's the leaders problem...time to change the leader!
The Israelites experienced all of the above when they looked at entering the Promised Land.  The following are three God Responses that Joshua and Caleb made;
  1. Let's go at once and take possession.
  2. He will bring us into the land and give it to us.
  3. Fear no one God is with us.
We know the outcome of the story.  They do not go into the Promised Land and instead take a detour for forty years.  I do not want to be on any "detours" so I have decided to Face my Giants.

In the movie clip Facing the Giants that I hope you will view, you will see how a football player views himself and how the team views themselves as well as how the coach "sees" his team.  This viewpoint or paradigm is important for it is once again the battle ground that must be taken.  You will not be disappointed for watching it.
If you see yourself as a son of a pauper...you will act according to your perception.  If you see yourself as a son of a King...you will act according to your perception. How you see yourself is more important than than the reality of the situation.

Be like the Swedish mother in our first picture who "Faced her Giant...and Lived".  Run from your giant and you may not die right away, but most certainly, you will end up on a detour until you once again get an opportunity to see yourself as you "really" are.
