George Tidball told me any decision that was short term in nature was not a good decision.
All decisions must be long-term in focus.
My uncle was the Attorney General for Alberta under Premier Peter Lougheed.
He said he would always ask his staff to respond to him with what was the cost/benefit of the staff recommendation in 20 years. He insisted it be included on every recommendation or he would send it back for a long-term perspective.
We have two aging schools in my town. Stafford and Langley Secondary. Stafford... what will be the perspective if we invest in Stafford in the long term?
LSS site... what will be the perspective if we choose to invest in the improved Langley Secondary School site in 10 years, 20 years.
REMEMBER: If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
